We have been conditioned as a society to believe that fun can only be had if we are out and about in the world. During these uncertain times, now is as good a time as ever to plan some activities you’ve been meaning to try. Here are some ideas to plan the perfect day indoors.

Board Games/Card Games
Relive your childhood. Monopoly, Chutes and Ladders, Go Fish, plus dozens more, never go out of style. Enjoying a murder mystery or sinking someone’s Battleship is an easy way for your family and friends to get together when boredom strikes. Luckily for most of us, we can head to our closets and grab a game right off the shelf. If games are not readily available, many stores and major online retailers carry board and card games in abundance at very reasonable prices. Stock up and join in on the fun together.

Reading
Do you have books gathering dust on your shelves? Grab one and dive in. Whether it’s the latest bestseller or a classic work of fiction, reading allows our minds to wander outside the traditional four walls we might feel trapped in. Getting lost in a tale or mentally taking a trip alongside your favorite character can fuel your daydreams and take you just about anywhere in the world or to a galaxy just beyond ours.

Painting and Crafting
Have you ever watched a Bob Ross tutorial and felt inspired to express yourself on a canvas? Now’s your chance! Take a trip to your local craft store or order supplies online and let your creativity take flight. You can also find plenty of How-To videos online for craft projects. Bust out your old sewing machine. Grab your knitting needles or crochet hook. Oil your skill-saw and start a new project. You just might stumble on a talent you never knew you possessed!

Gardening
Ok, so technically gardening would be considered an outdoor activity. Still, it can be done from the comfort of your own home. What better way to spend a day connecting with mother nature than by feeling the soil between your fingers, planting seeds and watching them grow. This is an especially valuable activity to do as a family. There’s a unique sense of accomplishment in planting seasonal flowers or vegetables and caring for them every day.
